Jeremiah the Frog, also known as "Jeremiah the Innocent", is a character created by artist and musician Daniel Johnston. The character Johnston was inspired by a rubber stamp box he found while working at AstroWorld that featured a frog and the text "Hi, How Are You?". He named the frog "Jeremiah" after the song "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night, which opens with the lyric, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog"
